of the garlic.

- Before putting ground beef into the freezer, form the meat into patties. Place each patty on
a square of waxed paper. Wrap each in freezer paper. Seasoning may be added before freezing.
Pecans
Freezing -
No special handling needed. The only requirement is that the container is air tight and moisture
proof. (We freeze our pecans all the time and they are delicious.)
When you are ready to use them, leave the nuts in the container at room temperature until completely
thawed. You can refreze any unused pecans just one more time.
Refrigeration -
Same as above. Pecans will keep for months in a air tight container.
How to get Pecan's out of their shell whole or in large pieces -
Soak pecans in cold water for 2 hours, drain and let stand overnight. Then crack them by hitting
them on the end. These nuts MUST be refrigerated or they will become moldy.
Stale nuts?
All salted nuts exposed to air tend to absorb moisture and will taste stale. To freshen them,
put them in a very low oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
